This stop-motion animation is a parody of the song "I Wish It Was Christmas Today" originally performed on Saturday Night Live on December 9^th, 2000 by Horation Sanz, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Kattan, and Tracy Morgan. For the animation, we're using Hasbro's Black Series Holiday Edition figures.

I WISH IT WAS LIFE DAY TODAY (2023)

Our latest stop-motion animation celebrates the holiday LIFE DAY from the Star Wars universe. This music video parodies the song "I Wish It Was Christmas Today" written by Horatio Sanz and Jimmy Fallon, which they orignally performed on Saturday Night Live on December 9th, 2000 along with Chris Kattan and Tracy Morgan.

We wanted to connect this music video with the rest of our stop-motion fan film series STAR WARS TOY STORIES, so we included the opening scene where two of the live-action characters from our series, Riley and Hannah, set up a Life Day holiday display for their parents using Hasbro's Holiday Edition action figures. You can see Riley and Hannah in our upcoming short film HOME SOLO: A STAR WARS TOY STORY, which is currently in production.

Check out this trailer for our fourth fan film, I Wish It Was Life Day Today, which was published on YouTube January 1st, 2023. This trailer was produced afterward and published on February 25th, 2023 for promoting film festival screenings with GeekFest Film Fests during their Year 10 tour across the US throughout 2023.

DAVID S. DAWSON

NARRATOR / LEAD VOCALS

David S. Dawson is proud to be a part of Star Wars Toy Stories. Star Wars was the defining series of films in his own childhood and ultimately led him on the path of storyteller and filmmaker. David studied Theatre at Baylor University and has had a long career both in the spotlight and behind the scenes in entertainment. A huge fan of voice actors, David has been steadily building his own career as a voice actor and is humbled and honored to be selected to portray Yoda in Star Wars: The Toys Awaken and Home Solo: A Star Wars Toy Story.

RAYMOND MONTEMAYOR

BACKUP VOCALS / WRITER / DIRECTOR / PRODUCER

Raymond is an engineer turned artist. He holds BS and MS degrees in engineering from Harvey Mudd College and UCLA, respectively, and spent 12 years designing communication chips for the wireless and cable TV industries. He founded PixelPlex in 2012 to pursue his interests in digital media design, providing services as a motion graphics designer, visual effects artist, stop-motion animator, and 3D animator. A lifelong Star Wars fan, Raymond has focused his love for art and technology to produce this Star Wars fan film.

JAMIE COSTA

EMPEROR PALPATINE (voice)

Jamie Costa began his acting endeavors in college theatre back in South Carolina. Shortly after graduating he got more involved in the YouTube world by showing up in others viral shorts and sketches and then on to generating his own content. It wasn't long before he became an online sensation. All the while he has managed to hone his craft and maintain a career in the film industry as a prolific VO artist and onscreen actor. His online content has garnered millions of views across Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. In 2015 Jamie moved to LA to continue his industry pursuits.
